THE EXPLORER
PROFESSIONAL DIVISION OPENS
At long last, 1980 heralds the official opening of
the Institute's Professional Division.
In response to many requests, the Professional
Division is designed to assist researchers,
clinicians, practitioners, educators, and related
organizations in the application and additional
study of the Institute hemi-sync techniques in
their particular field of endeavor. The Division will
offer special hemi-sync tapes for use by
Professional Members in research or private and
clinical practice. Research data from members
and other sources also will be circulated among
such membership.
In addition, weekend seminars for training and
research in the application of hemispheric
synchronization will be held frequently at The
Center in Virginia. (See accompanying 1980
Schedule). The Professional Division Executive
Committee is composed of ArthurGladman, M.D.,
Stuart Twemlow, M.D., Todd Mickurea, M.D.,
Fowler Jones, Ph.D., William Schul, Ph.D., and
Mary Jane Ledyard, Ph.D.
Among present areas to be considered are
stress-tension reduction, control of pain,
psychotic state remission, drug and alcohol
addiction, autistic and other childhood
disfunctions, post-stroke therapy, creativity, and
accelerated and specialized learning.
Letters of invitation are now being mailed to
those who already have expressed an interest in
Professional Membership. Ifyouractivities lead in
this direction, write or phone the Institute in
Virginia for information and application forms.

CREATIVITY WORKSHOP
Hemispheric Synchronization - coherent and
simultaneous electrical wave forms throughout
the brain cortex - has been remarkable as a state
of creativity in many directions. Gateway
participants have written books, poetry, painted
pictures, and composed music as a result.
This year, the Institute offers a special series of
Creative Workshops, aimed directly to enhance
the ability of the artist, writer, and composer. (See
1980 Schedule). They will be held in the pastoral
environment of the Center in Virginia. Each
participant will be able to utilize the various types
of Institute Hemi-sync sound techniques that best
suit his needs. The Workshops will be offered over
long weekends, and will include meals and
housing at the Institute Center.
For information and reservations, phone or
write the Institute Headquarters in Virginia.

who are in agreement with the above reaction to
the tapes: A former teacher, who experienced
spontaneous Kundalini and was given the
contract to teach consciousness raising using

persons have also shared the tapes with their
close groups, so there is a spreading circle of
affirmation of the contents of the tapes".......(KP)
"Interesting material to say the least. It has
provided all of us a clearer conception of how you
are functioning with your work in VA. Personally it
provides many things to think about and work on.
It is reassuring to hear the structures hinted at in
your work confirmed by these tapes"..... (WB)
"The discourse on side two of the tape about the
Christ Consciousness and Jesus was as clearly
stated as possible. As far as I am concerned it is a
masterpiece in philosophy. It is sure a pitythat the
average man and woman on the street cannot be
aware of this discussion.".......(EB) "And of such

governance and substance that shine out. Beauty
and love, that most abused word forwhich there is
