Official Diary
Saturday, July 1952
1. Informed the Director of the resignation of M*ssade 25X1 Aga
the availability of Hakini, who had Senate approval; but relayed
comment that the question of replacement really depended
upon the views of the lower House, the Majlis, and the firmness of the
Shah. Further commented on the effect of the fact that no decision
had yet been reached by The Hague Court, which was expected to render
its decision about the l5th.
25X1A9a 2. informed me that Byroade would be receptive
to an invitation to visit CIA and I undertook to make arrangements.
3. Cleared with the Director the briefing of Congressman
Battle on East-West trade, although I am to ask Battle to keep the
fact of the briefing confidential, so that we will not receive numerous
other requests.
14. Discussed with the Director the order governing
activities of Contact Division.
5. Approved dissemination of SE-31 (Denmark) by O/CD
to Mr. Harriman and his Military Adviser, Gen. Roberts.
