1., It was decided that no really useful purpose would be served
25X1 A9ay my trip to New York to meet and plans were cancelled. However,
25X1 A6awe requested to assure that call us as 25X1 A9a
soon as possible after he docks.

2, has been loaned by DD/P to Mr.
John Foster Dulles and is presently in New York. I received a call
25X1 A9afrom indicating that General Smith had indicated that he
25X1A9aght want to pass the 0/CI daily publication to Mr. Dulles
and therefore it would be necessary for to have the special 25X1 A9a
clearance. I checked ,with 0/CI who., in turn, checked with I&S and am
25X1A9ainformed that is properly cleared and could be briefed at aly
time. I have arranged with Mr. Sheldon to have 25X1 A9a
in New York shduld the General direct handle the Special material 25X1A9a
25X1 A9and have informed for the Director, the manner in which this
is now set up,
Mr. Amory was host at Admiral Espe is luncheon and briefing, the
latter being conducted by the Assistant Directors (see attached schedule).
A most unfortunate flap developed at luncheon in that wanderec25X1 A9a
into the dining room and took Mr. Wisner r s place at the table. By the time
Mr. Wisner arrived., the table was full and he withdrew in some embarrassment.
As soon as I learned of this, I went to Mr. Wisner, who was eating sandwiches
at his desk, and apologized for the embarrassment that had been caused him.
He was most understanding and re lined that this was definitely not our

Director's Office to receive phone calls and thus release all of the people
in this building to attend the party. Her kindness was very much appreciated.
