1. Mr. Malanick, Acting Deputy Director for Administration,
made available a copy of Referent A to this office. While we know
that the Office of Security is proceeding with its investigation of
Subject, we recognize that the pace of this investigation must be
guided by advisories the Office of Security receives from the Office
of Medical S----vices. Whether it will be possible to arrive at a -Pill]
and conclusive report on the security indiscretions allegedly made by
Subject and the effect these indiscretions may have had on certain
sensitive operational activities of this Directorate is at this time
difficult to forecast. We do, however, encourage the Office of
Security to actively and vigorously pursue this investigation so that
all possible instances of security violations and their possible effect
on our operational activities can be clarified to the fullest possible
