REMOTE VIEWING (RV) SESSION XXVII
1. (S) This report provides documentation of a remote
viewing session conducted for the purpose of orienting
a remote ivewer to the protocol which will be used in the
remote viewing training program at Stanford Research
Institute (SRI), Menlo Park, California.
2. (S) The remote viewer's impressions in this session
showed no target correlation. Of unique importance to this
session is the fact that the preselected, randomly generated
designated target ( a retail store) had gone out of business
and did not exist at the time of the session. When the
"outbounder" or "beacon" discovered that the target no longer
existed he stayed in the immediate area hoping that the
remote viewer would "find" him in spite of the obvious
problem at hand. The remote viewer was unaffected by ambient
room noise and appeared to be physically relaxed during the
session. He seemed to have trouble focusing on his images
and his images did not fit together or appear to be located
together.
3. (S) The protocol used for this session and which will
be used in later training is detailed in the document,
Standard Remote-Viewing Protocol (Local Targets) by Harold
E. Puthoff and Russell Targ, November 1978.
4. (S) Following is a transcript of the viewer's impres-
sions during the remote viewing session. At TAB A are the
drawings made by the viewer reference his impressions of
the target site. At TAB B is a post-session interview. No
target photographs are enclosed as the target did not exist
at the time of the session.

REMOTE VIEWING (RV) SESSION XXVII
TIME #7.5: This will be a remote viewing session. (Edited
for security.)
#7.5: #6.5 is approaching the target. He is observ-
ing the area. . . Look at the target. . .Describe
it to me. .
#19.5: He's. . . he's. . . he's in an open area.
#19.5: I don't. . . I don't sense any pavement. . .
Its like a . . I almost sensed that it was like
a park for a minute. . . Ah. . I'm having. .
I had . . . a tremendous clarity there for just
a moment. It was like looking through a. . .
looking through a hole.. . . Its like there is
some type of pipe arrangement. . . Its a . . its
like a framework. . type. . affair. . . and then
half circle type shapes. Like half moons. . .
#19.5: There appears to be something. . . sticking out
of the ground. I keep wanting to say they are
pipes. But they are thick like posts. Almost
. . . I feel like there's these benches.
There's benches there. Some form of benches.
Some kind of a seating type. . . structure. A
lot of green. I see an awful lot of green.
Although the area is fairly open. . . Ah. . .
+03 #7.5: Describe his position.
#19.5: He's. . He's. . He's standing. . . to the left
side front of this open area. . . looking kind
of a . . diagonally to the left here.

#19.5: At least he's standing alone. I don't sense
other people there. I sense he's a good
distance from the car there.
#19.5: I keep seeing pipes. Pipe-like structures.
Frameworks. . . There seems to be sheet metal
of some sort as well. . . And there's poles
in the ground, thick poles. Nothing familiar.
Its kind of a . . kind of a unique place, like
a. . . like a . . . sectioned off area of ground
that. . . might have some undefineable type
structures. Pehaps some form of machinery. I
don't sense engine type of machinery though.
Its more of a constructive type. . . Very
strong feeling of green, open. Lot of grass.
#7.5: Describe your position to me.
#19.5: I'm standing directly to the rear right of #6.5
I'm looking the same way he is. I'm trying to
look to his right. He's not looking to his right.
But I'm trying to look. I see an edge of some-
thing. Its. . . It feels like its metal, but it
looks like its ceramic of some sort. A curved
edge. Something like you would see. . supporting
a flower arrangement. A flower bed. A. . I see
a sidewalk on the other side. . . or I, I can't
see the sidewalk. I feel that there's a side-
walk. Maybe not a sidewalk. Concrete. A narrow
strip of concrete. And sand. This would be a
large patch of sand. Blue. . I see. . . part of
the. . . part of the metal. This sheet metal is
blue. I just can't see what it is. . . Geez, its
just a jumble of pipes. Tremendous bunch of
pipes all interconnected and forming some structure.
#7.5: Describe your position to me.

#19.5: I moved to the right. I'm on the other side
of the flowers. I'm looking back towards
#6.5 and the pipes are on my right.
#7.5: Move up above the area so that #6.5 is in the
center of the area. Go up above so he's in
the center and describe the area to me.
#19.5: I see to his right I see a . . a sand pit.
To his rear left, I see a fence. Maybe that's
not a . . That might be . . I see a fence.
Its definitely a fence. . . I can't tell look-
ing down on it how high it is. So, I dan't
find the metal pipe structure.
#19.5:
Open
grass.
. . Poles. . . of something. . .
some
thick,
cylindrical type object sticking
out
of the ground. Varied heights. . . Its
difficult to tell. I can't get the right
perspective of telling the heights. Some of
them would appear to be about chest high.
I think the concrete; the flower bed arrangement
is. . . I can't see the whole shape. Its to his
rear right. I believe. I can't see it from the
top. I can only see it from the side.
#7.5: Describe the surface that #6.5's standing on.
#19.5: Grass. Standing. . . He's standing on grass.
Not far from gravel or dirt. . . The pipe
arrangement is. . I keep seeing these pipes.
All interconnected pipes. I see sheet metal
fastened to parts of the pipes. The sheet metal
is blue and some gray. Fencing behind me. . I
see a parking area to the side. . . To the side
of. . . I keep trying to . . . I can't even tell
which direction I'm looking at all these pipes.
I just get the impression that they're all
interconnected in some form of structure.
With sheet metal fastened to it. And there are
cylindrical type objects sticking out of the
ground. But they're dark. Very dark color. I
keep wanting to say poles, like telephone pole
sections, but I think that's analytical.

#7.5: Move back away from the target at ground level.
Back away from the target at that ground level.
#19.5: Okay.
#7.5: Move back away.
#19.5: I just passed through a fence.
#7.5: Okay.
#19.5: The fence is, I would say, eye level. Small
building. Small box type thing on my left.
A (not audible) of grass.
+13 #7.5: Okay, stop right there now. Stop there, hold
that, look down at the target. Describe the
target.
#19.5: I just see an edge of grass and sort of dirt
and gravel mixed. . . I see high fences and
little fences. . . And I see those pipes,
upright. Its just a whole hodge-podge of pipes
all interconnected. I sense that there's a
building somewhere nearby that's got a very.
a very high. . . a very high steeple type roof,
but I don't. . . I don't know if that's a
building or if its a sign post or its just a
high type. . steeple type like. . . Trees at the
far distance. Or what appears to be woods. . .
#7.5: Describe #6.5's position to me.
#19.5: He's gone to the right. He's now close to the
sand. He's. . um. . I sense that he's taking
a picture of the fence. Of the fenced area. . .
or the. . the . . what looks like fences. . I
can't. I keep going to those pipes and I can't
. . I don't know which way is up, down or side-
ways. . . when I look at the pipes. These very
distinct; wait a minute, I'm thinking of a
vacuum cleaner right now. I see, I see distinct
half moon shapes. . . form of the pipes. Not
all of the pipes are bent. And not all of the
pipes are straight. Some of them are bent.
They appear to be all one piece. Like they're
welded together edge to edge.

#7.5: What is the function of the pipe structure?
#19.5: If I could figure out . . . side from the top
and the back, I'd be able to tell, I think. It
almost looks like its some kind of a. . some
kind of a support for a . . (not audible) of
some sort. But its got more than just that
function. What would it be doing. . I don't
know what it would be doing in the grass area.
I see. . what I thought was concrete before
appears to be some sort of a path. Its either
asphalt or concrete. Some stone type path.
He's. . . I don't sense any significant structure.
I don't. . .
I see slanted, slanted. . something. That may
be the side of pipes. Look like they're slats.
Just great sweeping curves in the pipes, like
half moons.
#7.5: Okay. You're much too close to be able to
understand what it is. You're looking at it too
close, from the perspective that you don't
normally look at it. You have to step back
from it. Step back from it a few feet and
look at it from the normal perspective. Let
yourself go back from it. . .
#19.5: It looks like an array of palm fawns all stick-
ing out of a tree. Its just . . . sweeping
curves of pipe coming out of the center piece.
#7.5: Okay, that's fine. That's fine.
#19.5: I think I see a wooden platform under it.
#7.5: Okay.
#19.5: Its a real odd shape.
#19.5: I'm seeing the fencing again. . . And the grass.
Very, very, green grass. Well manicured. . .
And the. . . poles. . . sticking out of the
ground. I don't have any idea what those are
for. . .

#7.5: Let yourself go up in the air again and look
down on the thing from about twenty feet in
the air. Look down at all those things in
perspective to one another on the ground.
Describe #6.5's position to me.
#19.5: He's standing next to the . . the jumble of pipes.
He's looking . . he was looking at them. Now
+20 he's looking back across the grassy area towards
the automobile.
He's a. . . He's . . . He's on the . . He's
on the grass. He's a . . stepping. . I sense
that he's walking across this wooden platform
or this wooden thing or . . this ledge or this
piece of wood that's got something to do with
the pipes.
#7.5: Okay, fine.
#19.5: A. . It almost. . It almost looks like the
pipes are some form of . . . of, I don't know.
Of some. . some. . frame for something.
I just don't know.
#7.5: Okay. Let's not worry about the pipes, okay?
You've given a very good description of them.
Now, you have told me that you saw him walking
across the board and that's very good. We've
got a great deal of information about the area.
Let's work on putting that area in relation to
other items. Now the way we're going to do
that is you're going to go to the center of the
area. To the center of the area and then go up
in the air, up in the air, a little bit further,
go up about a hundred feet now. Up about two
hundred feet now and you can begin to see that
area down there with all those objects and you
can begin to see its relationship to the greater
geographical'area. Now, describe the adjacent
geographical area.
#19.5: I see. . I see. . across the grassy area, up
over a hill, a great many trees. Predominantly
nothing but trees in that direction. Going
back across the sand and gravel area there's
a road. The road goes. . . I sense that the
road goes north and south. The tall structure
is down the road towards the north. And, . .

And it appears to be some form of steeple
type affair. Although I don't. . I don't
envision a whole building of it. Going
south down the road there is some concrete
structures across the road from the target
. . . I sense the whole area is very, very
dry. Dusty kind of area. . Slight roll to
the ground. Very few trees along the side
of the road that #6.5's on. . . Fence does
not run the length of the road. It just
runs along it for a short ways. . .
Its very. . . It appears to be a very simple
target, I don't. . . Outside of the pipes, I
don't see anything significant about it. The
fence feels significant. The platform feels
significant. I see two other cars parked
where #6.5's car is. I keep. . I keep seeing
a white Volkswagen (not audible) like his, parked
next to the (not audible). . .
I just don't see anything else.
#7.5: Okay, would you like to draw some of the things
you have now?
#19.5: Yes I would
#19.5: Ah, let's see.
PAUSE
(DRAWING)
#19.5: Portions of the pipes. . are bent. Like this
(not audible). And there appears to be a . .
cross pieces to the pipes.
And other angles in pipe. There's like portions
that are straight. Its just. . . many right
angles of pipe with (not audible) pieces. . .
Looking from the top I sensed a half moons. It

went like palm fawns. Went out in array,
like this. But there didn't appear to be
a center support. It all appeared to be on
a wooden type platform. But then when I
looked at the edge of the wooden platform from
the side it was low, like. . . this design.
With a piece that came off, like this and
this is thepiece that I sensed that he walked
on. . . I saw big fences. And those little
fences. Okay, and this was definitely chain
like type. And, a . . the sheet metal appeared
to be in this shape and it was blue. Like a
rolled edge to it here. And I guess it kind
of went back like this. Almost like the
promitory of something or at the point of
something coming out. And there was a . . .
like an aura around this tip. It was a . .
was a. . was a very brilliant. . I guess it was
reflecting sunlight. Looking down, I sensed
that the road went this way. North and south.
And that the edge of the road was all gravel
and dirt and that this was a large grassy area.
And that the pipes were over in this area. . .
Great deal of sand in here. This was very
green grass and trees. Trees all back in here.
Buildings are down here somewhere. Ididn't
get any form at all. But I just sensed that
there's buildings there. This is the steeple
like affair right here. I just sensed it as
being long and tall. Almost like a needle.
I don't. . .
#7.5: Where was the target on this map here?
#19.5: Pardon?
#7.5: Where was the target located?
#19.5: On this map?
#7.5: Um hm.
#19.5: 1 sense that this was the actual target here.

the pipes had a great
. . with the target,
. no matter which way
I looked at them, these pipes didn't make
any sense to me at all. It was like. . a
I want to say it was like an um. . an umbrella
pipes coming out. Like this. . . Almost like a
spider legs. But then looking from one side you
could see through them like they were all inter-
connected, like this. And then there was some
form of angle irons or something. Other pipes
that were connected like this. Just a. . I
don't even know what the function that could have.
Just a hodge-podge of pipes.
#7.5: Okay.
#19.5: I just couldn't get my mind off of these pipes.
And there appeared to be some form of . . . a
. . well, let's say, some form of wood platform
that went underneath it. I did sense one other
unique feature there that I couldn't get back to.
I couldn't. . I had trouble with. I sensed a
rounded corner. That had dirt, like this with
grass all going around it and the dirt was all
in here. Almost as if it was prepared for or
already had some form of plant life planted in
it. You know, but I don't sense it as being a
formal planter, but it was more like just a
raised area of ground if you will. And that this
was like of a clay material. I kept wanting to
say concrete. But its not concrete. I kept
wanting to say brick, but its not brick.
#7.5: Okay, fine.
#19.5: This, I sensed was over here somewhere near
the sand.
#7.5: Okay, now you said one of your very first images,
you were looking down a tube or something and
then there was something very clear. What was
that all about?
#19.5: That was this. It was . . It was like looking.
. . through a wobbly hole.

#19.5: And it was just everything around it was vague.
All this was vague. This was the sharpest image
that I had. In this hole, was this, this metallic
blue thing with a shimmering around the tip.
#7.5: Okay.
#19.5: And it was just incredibly clear. Back here
was a horizon and below the horizon was just
the darkest emerald green. Like you were
looking at just the greenest grass you could
ever see.
#7.5: Okay.
#19.5: And this piece of blue metal was just shimmering
in the sunlight and on the horizon was brown.
Brown.
#7.5: Okay.
#19.5: Brown, it was like a mass of trees. It just . .
like the hole just opened and then closed off.
#7.5: Okay.
#19.5: And it . . and it opened and closed like two or
three times. It was almost like I was just
squeezing myself out through this little hole.
#19.5: And had I been able to, then like I would have
been standing right there.
#7.5: Okay.
#19.5: I could have seen it all.
#7.5: Okay. Good.
#19.5: That. . that was very. . . The clarity of that
just can't be overemphasized. It was like.
It was like being right there.
#7.5: Okay. Is there anything else that you want to

REMOTE VIEWING (RV) SESSION XXVII
1. (S) Post-session interviews are conducted after the
completion of a session (usually the following day) to
provide the selected Remote Viewer with the opportunity
to express himself concerning his viewing experience.
2. (S) #19.5 felt forlorn after the session. He
appeared confused during the session and when he was
told that there was no target he became depressed and
frustrated. #19.5 remains eager to do remote viewing
but wishes desparately that things go better the next time
around.
3. (S) #19.5 and #7.5 worked well together during the
session. #7.5 shared #19.5's desperation after the session.
