SUMMARY ANALYSIS
REMOTE VIEWING (RV) SESSION
1. (S) This report documents a Remote Viewing (RV) session
conducted in compliance with a request from SOD, J3, OJCS,
Pentagon, Washington, D.C. The purpose of the session was
to provide information relevant to the hostage situation in
the U.S. Embassy compound in Teheran, Iran.
2. (S) The remote viewer's impressions of the target are
provided as raw intelligence data and as such have not been
subjected to any intermediate analysis, evaluation or collation.
Interpretation and use of the information provided is the
responsibility of the requestor.
3. (S) The protocol used for this session is detailed in the
document, Grill Flame Protocol, AMSAA Applied Remote Viewing
Protocol"'), undated.
4. (S) Following is a transcript of the viewer's impressions
during the remote viewing session. At TAB A are drawings made
by the remote viewer reference his impressions of the-target
site. At TAB B is target cueing information provided the
remote viewer.

For the past few minutes now you've been
studying a photograph. On that photograph
there was an area designated to you as Area I.
Relax and concentrate now; focus your attention
on Area I. Relax and concentrate and describe
the area to me.

were many, many long, narrow divisions to this
wall. Ahm...ah...not...could be rows of wall
lockers ...ah...it could be long, skinny, narrow
door.. .doors or it could be some type of interior
decorating, whatever, Ane-ther'-image that came
a~?srorig and I was, at the same
flooded with an atmosphere of the environment; I
first pictured a large, comfortable wooden chair,
then I perceived that this was only one of many
chairs in this particular area. I had the
atmosphere that...ah...this may have been...this
particular area may have been a conference area...
ah...a planning area. I...I felt as if there

with chairs all around. I (mumble) feeling the
conference.. the conference room.. .the area or
something.

OK. Move inside the building and search the
inside of the building.
I can't find any people in the building. One
unusual thing that...that struck me though is
that I don't know where I was in the building
but somewhere I ran into a profusion of...of
draperies ...ahm...and it was most unusual.. .a
J I had the impression they were red. Somewher
in the building are a lot of red drapes, or
j `curtain or something, but I've yet to perceive
J any people or any activity.
OK. You seem to be having a difficult time
today getting any focus; is there anything that you
want to try?
Well, perhaps I could just try to relax a little
more and just see what.. .what pops in.

#14 I appeared to enter a room which seemed to be rather
plush ...ahm...and it...it appeared to be deep brown
panelling all around.. .wood panellling, and on one
location on the wall was a large picture of some-
body, in a frame, very nice...ah...and there
appeared to be a flag on other side of this picture,
two flags, and then I had this ...I seemed step back
and I pictured.. .1 had the picture... impression...
very strong impression of an individual sitting
there but it's ...it...it's not a present situation.
Ah...this individual was well groomed, dark hair,
mustache, wearing a gray well tailored suit, very
neat, with a white shirt and red tie. I would say
would appear late 30's - early to middle 40's;
probably much younger looking than his actual age;
very hard to judge the age, but somehow this seemed
to be his office or he was...ah...he seemed to be
the dominant figure.

dominated by this person, it just may be a very
strong impression of him, but...ahm...ah...the

one would expect from a hostage situation. Now

would expect, unless they took him down and got a
shave and hair cut and...and everything, but...
ah...at the time this...this individual is very...

picture or photograph on the wall; I tried to
focus to see what impressions I got from this
picture or painting but very difficult, but
this one... this one individual or whatever
dominated the...this room or this area.

#14 In my first impression, Drawing No. 1, was the
series of panel shapes going down a...a wall
(mumble), I'm not sure where the wall was;
whether it was in a hall way, or_whether it was
a room. I only saw this one wall with these...
these shapes that continued down, and again,
I'm not sure whether these were panels, doers,
wall lockers or what, but sitting here drawing...
drawing them unconsciousl~,+-`Nialf unconsciously
anyhow, I would describe them more as a...more
as panels on a...ll of a hall way or a room.
Ah...in Drawing No. 2 was a very strong
impression; a nice comfortable chair, rather
expensive type, the...it was very heavy, it was
upholstered very nicely, very comfortable, but
this was very solid wood construction, heavy
type chair, and then the scene turned into one of...
the chair itself is A...and appeared to be looking
down a long, heavy table and there were more of
these chairs around this table, and there
appeared to be draperies or curtains or something
nearby on the walls or...or whatever.

##14 I'm not sure because in Drawing 2, Page 2, all I
perceived was, at first, the chair, and then the
table with these other chairs all around there in
this conference type area; the rest of it was

entirely out of focus, and then I went back; all
a sudden I saw a...kind of like an entrance way...
oh boy, this is one of these things where I saw
several different angles at the same time; I don't
know to put it - how to draw it. I'll try.
The...ah...I had two solid things that came out and
appeared to be...ah...concrete or something, and the
steps going up to...ahm...it appeared to be mostly
glass doors through... two doors that opened like
this and these panels on each side were solid and
there appeared to he one above that.
And then 4 was, once I got inside I was drawn to a
room where I saw a large photograph or painting and
the painting was of an individual or photograph of
an individual. Ah...mostly the head and shoulders;
bust type. There appeared to be some flags or
something on either side of this and down in front...
directly in front I'm not sure if there was a desk
or what have you but then I had this long table
again.

the same long table... conference table type situation
you had before?

necessarily so.

session did your really ever see any people any-
where, either outside or inside other than in this
room that you've drawn now, No. 4, you did see...
ah...concept of a...ah...individual sitting at the
end of the table, however, you don't feel that that...
he was really there?
414 I think ...ah...this person's essence is so, perhaps
so strong that it, you know, but...ah...definitely...
ah...a light gray suit, red tie, and white shirt.
Individual definitely had a dark mustache...ah...

hair might have been graying somewhat but...ah...
appeared to have...ah...dark hair at one time.
Ahm...and this individual was sitting at the end of
this table or, if there was a desk behind this
table, he was sitting at the desk or whatever, but
seemed to be...this seemed to be hi erred to
be in control of whatever this om was, and again,
there were other.. .there wer chairs around her', and
this was a place where. people, groups of ~'ople
came and had meetings... ..definite feeling. /It was
almost like a...a privat office but a confe t e room.

have been some very large windows with some heavy
drape.. .very heavy type drapes... drapery over here.
Ah...but this is just ...ah...you know...I had a
feeling of it, I didn't see it but I felt it there,
and over here, I don't know what was over here, but
ah.

impression of the chair, I had once prior to the-
beginning of the session and when the session
started off, ah...that immediately came up and
then the rest of...ah...the drawing on Page 2 came
into shape, and the general atmosphere and the
feeling.
#14 Ah...No. 1 came prior to No. 2, but all it was...
it was a wall of some sort with these series of
long, rectangular shapes going down it, but did
not have any feeling that... that the... there any
people occupying that place at this time, be it
hostage or anybody else.

2. (S) At the time of the sion, the viewer was asked to describe
an area referred to as "I. He was shown overhead imagery of the US
Embassy compound in Teheran, Iran. The area designated as Area "I"
was pointed out to the viewer by the interviewer. The imagery is not
included herein due to its classification.
3. (S) The viewer had not worked against this target as a remote
viewer in the past. He had, however, served as an interviewer for
this target. Becuase of this, he felt he had difficulty sorting his
own target impressions from those he remembered from the session in
which he was the interviewer (see Session CC39). At the time of the
session, the viewer was not told anything about the area he was
trying to describe except for its letter designation.
