1. (S) This report documents a Remote Viewing (RV) session
conducted in compliance with a request from SOD, J3, OJCS,
Pentagon, Washington, D.C. The purpose of the session was
to provide information relevant to the hostage situation in
the U.S. Embassy compound in Teheran, Iran.
2. (S) The remote viewer's impressions of the target are
provided as raw intelligence data and as such have not been
subjected to any intermediate analysis, evaluation or collation.
Interpretation and use of the information provided is the
responsibility of the requestor.
3. (S) The protocol used for this session is detailed in the
document, Grill Flame Protocol, AMSAA Applied Remote Viewing
Protocol (S), undated.
4. (S) Following is a transcript of the viewer's impressions
during the remote viewing session. At TAB A are drawings made
by the remote viewer reference his impressions of the target
site. At TAB B is target cueing information provided the
remote viewer.

Focus your attention now on the individual from the
picture you have been studying. Focus your attention
on this individual. Relax and concentrate. Focus
your attention on. this individual. Find this individual.
Become aware of his surroundings. The area where he is
located Relax and concentrate and describe the area to
me.
PAUSE
#36 I've been looking for the man in that picture. I don't
see him but I keep seeing a building (mumbling) appears
to be a mountainous; terrain. I don't understand this.
#28 Focus your attention on the individual. Find the
individual. Tell me about him.
#36 (Mumbling) .....appears to be (mumbling) this room
It seems cold.
Tell me a little bit about this room
.It's, it's got a fire over there. I can't tell
.whether it's coming from a stov or fireplace. I see
flame. He is fiddling with-it. room seems pretty
cool. he is not close to the fire. It's got a big
window opposite the fireplace.

#3-6 What kind of room is it? Very casual kind of room
like in a ..I don't understand this (mumbling). Looks
more like cabins I've been up in Maine, but, I can't
..I don't see any logs. I just have the feeling of
..like a kind of place you would have as a second home,
.or something. I thought it was the mountains., I'm
looking for other people but.....

out the. window. I'm looking too. I don't see much
out there. I keep getting a feeling of a..a curve
.'..a-real...a real nice highway nearby. This building
.'.-.relatively small building.... appears to be inside
of the curve and up a slope. Not much traffic on that
road.
Is this individual alone? Focus back in. Is this
individual alone?
#36 I.am looking for guards, and people. I don't see
anybody, else.

Somebody is using binoculars (mumbling). I think
?somebody is watching him.. All I can see is a head,

this.. It sure isn't in the compound.

(Mumbling) He moves around from room to room and
great freedom. This is like he's not captive there,
unless..unless it's just house arrest. I don't see
any guards. He just went into the room to-the
room to the right, if you're looking out the window.
...room to the right. He doesn't appear intent on
anything He just came back into the room with the
fire. Over by the.wall is a....flat two wheeler
coil thing. I don't know what it is. Stove in that
room over there. He is just pacing around with his
hands in his pocket. Appears in good health. There's
a floor below this one. He's upstairs. It's kind of
like this thing is...like a lodge or something.
#28 Are there any other occupants in this building?
#36 I was trying to look at the bottom floor. I thought
maybe they had him upstairs and he didn't need to be
watched. I don't see..... I get the feeling there is

#28 Tell me about them.
#36 Seem like rather quiet (mumbling) people. Friendly,
I think. Friendly, I think. She, she's dressed
kind of like peasant folk. Clothes=have no shape to
'em. Uh...I get the feeling like ...like they take
care of this place. But, I don't think they're
hostile.
#28 All right. Focus now on the individual in question.
Individual's picture you studied. Focus on him again.
Determine now, determine through focusing on him,
determine why he is at that location. Determine why
he's there.
#36 I was trying to get his attention. He's sitting in
a chair there with his head back. I get the feeling
that he's not a prisoner.
#28 All right. Find out why he's where he is. Find out
why he's there.

#36 (Mumbling) I think he's hiding. Hiding. I have a
feeling he's trying to make contact with friendly
people. (Mumbling) he's too...he's too easily-
recognized. He's trying to make contact, but, I
think he's hiding. I think-it's the place he...he
knew about before this happened. I'm going to try
awfully hard not to...not to analyze, because, I
thought this guy was a prisoner.
#28 All right. Why don't you relax and concentrate for
awhile now. Just relax and concentrate for a moment.
I have one more question. Relax and concentrate.
Relax and concentrate. You said before he was being
watched by a man with binoculars. Go now to the
man with the biconulars and tell me about him.

#36 He's in civilian casual work.type clothes. Brown
scarf around his neck. About 59, 30-35.

#36 He's layed-his binoculars down. He's reading.

#36 I don't know. There's another guy over there.

by the window-intermittently he watches my.building.
Then he goes-back to reading I can't believe he's
doing that just for fun. It's as though...these two
guys are taking turns watching this building.. I don't
know they could be watching the people downstairs, but
I think that it's unlikely.

I can't figure out what my friends up. Why he's up.
Ah! He's asleep. It sure looks like he's asleep.
In a big chair He's waiting, waiting. But, I don't
know what for.
OK. I have no further questions, now, about this
target. I would like to give you the opportunity to
add any information that you would like to add before
we draw.
There's a woman....I keep seeing her...a glow in the
skies, over the hills to the-slightly to the right
I'm thinking that probably a glow from a city.
#28 You feel like you're not in a city now.
This is outside a city. What I'm seeing is outside
a city area.
##28- Where is this town?
#36 (Mumbling) behind me up a hill there, but farther to
the right because top the hill glow in the sky. I just
thought there might be a city there. It is a fairly
good road coming around, going below me curving around
...building is up a slope on the inside of the road
curve. There's other-few other buildings-on the slope.
Big tower up there. It's obviously a two-story building.
Very, very rural type structure. I guess that's about
- it. Except I felt this guy was, I don't know, 5 10 or 11.
That's the way he looked-with that loose sweater on.

#28 Let's draw the impressions that you've had.
#36 OK. Uh. It's very confusing. I had assumed any
:picture you showed me was a someone who is a hostage
-.in .a compound. I tried to look around the compound
and that is not the-image I saw. I saw. an image outside,
which had me confused. Ifelt that was..uh..and I don't
.even know if there are any mountains in Iran, but I felt
`I'uas..to the north and to the east. To.the north and
.the east of the city and I kept seeing snow and I..I
felt, I think, Iran is arid and dry and warm. I wasn't
seeing a prisoner, or I didn't recognize a prisoner.
I saw someone on the second floor by themselves. There's
at least three rooms up there. Uh..I felt the fireplace
or stove with open door or something... some flame...
an open flame was agains t the north wall.

#36 Uh...this is the main room. There's a big..uh..big
chair here. He spent a lot of time sitting in that
chair. He went into this room and I watched him"
through the door over to about this point over here,
so I don't have a full feel for what this room looked
like. I saw this door over here closed and (mumbling)
another room of some kind to the east. Uh.. I..I don't
know what was in there. I'm going to write north down
here a little lower because it is going to be wiped out
when you bind this.
Well, this area here inside this curve is up slope.
This is...this is high ground here.
#28 Write some words on the page, itself, with some arrows.
#36 There's a rail on the lower ...on-the bottom side of
this and it was up hill in that direction. This is
the building I am talking about, and I felt someone
in this building number one. I thought someone in
building number two was watching this house, here.
#28 OK. Draw an arrow for up slope and maybe put your
antenna in there on this sketch.
#36 Oh, yes. There's some contours here. Change this to
kind-of a horizontal plain now. This is all mountainous
around in here. I felt there was....there was some
trees on this, but not a heck of a 1Qt. I felt to this
...towards the city there was some hills that didn't
have much vegetation on them at all, but I felt there
was some vegetation on that hill. And, I really don't
know what the outside of the structure was like, but,
I do remember it was a two=-story.-
#28 OK. In your description of, where you thought the
city was, was a glow of light and I thought you said
a glow over the hill.
#36 In this direction of the arrow was hills...valley below
this....I thought there was a city in this direction.
#28 There are hills between you and the city?
#36 More hills over in here....Off down on the bottom of
the page in the direction of the city. I thought
there was a natural valley round and to the west.
It's very confusing. I'm not sure there are mountains
in that part of the world. I had the feeling it was
kind of a sparce area. . .kind of like a lodge. Kind of
like summer camps up in Maine. But I didn't see...like

a log cabin ..... I didn't see anything like that.
I had a feeling it was that type of..uh..type of
area and perhaps people went for the summer or...
something. I don't know what to make of it.
#36 I looked at the guy very well, and, you know, I'm
quite sure it was the. guy that I was looking at.
(Interference)
#36 Yeah. I think so. The building I was watching
was pretty much ...pretty much the same shape as_the
building I was looking at, and there was someone
asleep and someone awake, intermittently watching
that building with binoculars. The building was
slightly below but around the hill from this, and,
I tried to figure out.... it occurred to me well
are they watching him or watching someone to contact
him....I didn't know. I couldn't get a feel for it.
#6.5 Did I understand you correctly..uh..did you in fact
see the target individual?
#36 I saw a guy, that every time that I looked back, it
was the same-guy .... uh...the guy I was seeing....
I tried to figure out how tall he was-slacks were
rather loose...uh..they were heavy wool, sloppy..
#28 Did you have a good feel that you found the target
individual?
#36 Yeah. I thought that was him,.because, to tell you
the truth, I tried to look for him around the compound,
and this other image-at first I thought.I was seeing
snow, cold area, and it kept coming through, finally
I said to heck with the compound. Just left it alone,
started to look at that to see if it was...see why it
was coming through.
Saw two people. downstairs. I didn't know what time
frame...uh..it was almost looking at them...a picture
in a magazine or something. I'd see the one face.
It wouldn't be moving and I'd see it somewhere else
and it wouldn't be moving. I saw him move around,
and I saw the one individual with the binoculars
move.
#6.5 Those people downstairs... can you identify their
role?

#36 I...best way I can describe them-they looked
more like peasant dress..uh..maybe southern Italy..
uh..I felt that they were.... probably took care of
the place. Might even have owned it. But, I felt
they...they were the ones that took care of things
around there.
#6.5 They weren't hostages.
#36 No. I didn't think; .so.:: I thought they were late
40s, maybe early 50s. I couldn't quite tell. They
seemed like simple, quiet people. I also didn't
have the feeling they were guards. As result of that
I felt maybe he..uh.. wasn't being guarded.
#28 On the other hand, maybe not being guarded but being
watched by someone in the other building.
#36 Yeah. But, I didn't...I didn't think he was.... well
I wasn't sure he was aware of the fact he was being
watched. Uh..I found myself wondering what he was
doing up that time of night. Walking over looking
out the window, and coming back and sitting down, dozing,
fiddling with the fire.
#6.5 You had this feeling of cold several times. during the
session.
#36 Yeah. The room was cold except near that blamedfire._

#36 Two, three times I saw a roof line, a sharp roof line.
Uh..with snow in the valleys, not the whole roof, and
I got the (mumbling)...I thought that overlay-because
1 thought, you-know, there is no snow in -Iran. I don't
think so. And, yet, I felt this individual was northeast
of Teheran. But,
