Dear Mr
This letter is to thank you for participating in the
group interview segment of the 1979 Hope College Washington
Honors Semester.
The quality of this interview segment is entirely depen-
dent upon the willingness of individuals such as yourself to
spend some of their valuable time with a.group of students.
Our interview at the Central Intelligence Agency was most in-
formative. My conversations with participants indicate that
the interview led to a greater appreciation of your agency.
We particularly appreciate the fact that you were able to get
an agency official such as Mr.II for the interview.
This contact with our students is a valuable means of
encouraging understanding of our governmental system and is
commendable.
Again, thank you for your time, and we hope to see you
in the future.

I am writing to request that your organization participate in the
group interview segment of the Spring, 1979, Hope College Washington
Honors Semester Program.
The nineteen student participants in the honors semester are se-
lected on the basis of academic performance and recommendations. The
group includes members with majors in the natural sciences, humanities,
and social sciences. During the course of the semester students have
two six-week internships and three weeks of group interviews.
The group interview segment of the course involves group interviews
of a variety of persons at two to four organizations involved in a
particular area of public policy. We have found that this gives stu-
dents a feel for the issues and an appreciation of different viewpoints.
At present we are planning to look at the intelligence community
as one of these public policy areas. We would like to visit and inter-
view at your organization's Washington office Wednesday, January 17, 1979
le- t~ Am -,Vp from 10:30-11:30 A.M. If this time and date are convenient please call

time conflicts with your schedule and you would like to arrange an
alternate date, please let me know as soon as possible.
