PERSONNEL
INTERIM OVERSEAS DIFFERENTIAL
STAT
1. Under the authority of the CIA Act of 1949, I have established
a 9.6 percent Interim Overseas Differential, effective 12 July 1981, for
certain overseas employees.
2. This differential was developed to recognize the unique nature
and special demands which overseas service places on Agency personnel and
to serve as an incentive for Agency employees to seek and remain in
overseas positions with the Agency. Most full-time staff and contract
employees serving overseas are eligible for this new benefit. This
entitlement is subject to the computations that limit by law an employee's
pay to $50,112.50 per annum.
3. For additional information on this subject, employees are encour-
aged to contact their personnel officers.
