REFERENCE: Memorandum from D/Pers dated 19 January 1984,

This is a follow-up to Mr. Magee's memorandum of 19 January 1984
with additional information relating to applicants.
The Office of Personnel over the past week has extended/ task
force effort to clear the backlog of cases caused by computer down time
during the December transition when it moved to As of 17 January
there were 1015 applicant cases in process, an increase of 149 from the
previous week. There are now 04 cases under review b the component
almost double the 460 of 10 January. In a tion, there are 637 cases
being_xeyiewed and processed prior to sending them to components. Resumes
have been arriving at the rate of about 150 per day; there are presently
1200 beinZ___Keviewed and some 1000 plus have been processed in the last week.
