Dear Mr. Casey:
I hope this letter finds you in good health and happy spirits. I must apologize
for any inconvenience we may have caused your office regarding the light aircraft
demonstration at Quantico 14 - 15 Nov 83. It was an off again, on again event
and we felt it best not to trouble you personally. Since I left the Special
Operations Division of OJCS J3 I have concentrated on attempting to shorten the
research development and acquisition time for mission unique, mission essential
weapons and equipment for special troops. Although we are making significant
strides in. this area, much effort remains necessary regarding establishment of
institutional understanding and appreciation for the value and necessary crafts
of this level of warfare.
Sir, my main purpose for writing is to introduce a first class STAT
political warfare officer and social scientist who has been performing spartan
duty on the Army staff and the OJCS. He is an outstanding researcher and analyst
and would be a valuable addition to your operations group. He is currently being
considered for such a position and is anxious for the opportunity to serve with
your folks. has worked both with and for me and the results have always beeSTAT
outstanding. He is currently back with the Army staff serving in the Office of the
Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations (Special Operations Division).
