A. Definition of.government-sponsored foreign affairs research.
Government-sponsored foreign affairs research is de.f:ineci as re-
search programs and studies in the social and be}aavi.oral sciences
dealing with international relations, or with fore.i.gn arE~as aricl
peoples, whether conducted in tlxe United States or at.~roacl, which
are supported by contracts or grants awarded by a,;encies of tic.
United States. In-ixouse research. is not included.
B. Responsibilities for review and clearance.
