d. Referred to the problem concerning positive identification of the
pictures of the Russian aircraft, appearing In a recent issue of AVIATION
WEEKLY, and after noting a cable on this subject from the
agreed with General Cabell that every effort should be
made to determine whether or not the Russians actually had in operation the
aircraft in question even to the extent of rehiring, if necessary, the agent
referred to in the above-cited cable.
e. Referred to the discussion at the Deputies' Meeting on Wednesday,
10 March, concerning a manual on Communism being prepared by Mr. Litterick,
for the Army, and stated le believed our best purposes could be served by
dealing with the Army on this problem rather than direct with Mr. Litterick.
General Cabell undertook to follow through on this.
Referred to a proposed operation respecting Ho Chi-Minh, and after some
discussion the Director noted he was against this, however, we might discuss
it with State.
