GENERAL FOREIGN BROADCAST INFORMATION SERVICE HONG KONG BUREAU Chief, Operations Group Monthly Report -- Hong Kong Bureau -- December 1983 STAT Being the first to move, the bureau has now had some two months to ad- iust to the new premises. We have decided one of the nicer things about other, and featuring the dimmest of lighting plus favorite selections from the charts, the elevators look like strays from a Tsim Sha Tsui disco. II. EDITORIAL/MONITORIAL Lateral Services Language Tapes -- At the request of the Defense Liaison office, the bureau is recording selections from the PRC provincial radios for use by students and teachers in the British Forces Language School in Hong Kong. The bureau is giving the tapes to DLO for forwarding to the language school. Personnel Consulate Wage Survey -- The State Department has approved the results of the recent wage and classification survey. Pay raises retroactive to 16 October were approved for certain FSN grades. For the first time, a housing allowance was approved for all FSN employees and local medical coverage has been expanded to cover dependents and out-patient coverage.
