Wolf, Amory Kirkpatricl., Helms, Colonel White, Messrs. Sheldon and b. Asked Mr. Helms to determine whether we had received any indication that Rhee intended to release the POW's, noting that a view had been expressed at the NSC Meeting on 18 June'that this had been a long-range plan. c. In Mr. Wisner's absence asked Mr. Helms to discuss with Mr. William H. Jackson the inclusion of certain figures concerning CIA in the Jackson Report, and stated that: (1) it was his understanding that as a result of a discussion between Messrs. Wisner and Jackson it had been agreed that only the President's copy of the Jackson Report would include any figures on CIA; (2) this agreement had his approval, however, he would have no objection to including any f,gures which were "obvious"; (3) since he was personally acquainted with the individuals who would receive this Report, he would have no objection to orally filling them in on the figures in question and, :.n fact, possibly a footnote should be made in the Jackson Report to this effect. also including a statement that any figures omitted on CIA was done at the request of the DCI; (14) Mr. Helms had full authority to decide on this problem. Mr. Amory: a. Reported he had been advised by Mr. Pforzheimer that "a Commissioner" of the AEC had again raised the question of our partica_- pating in a study of their intelligence organization and after some discussion it was agreed to hold up on this until a later date. b. Mr. Kirkpatrick: Reported that the FBI had requested some old OSS reports per- taining to[ I and recommended approval. Mr. Kirkpatric noted, however, that one of the reports in question pertains to escape and evasion and before this one was released he would clear it w_:th the Air Force.
