b. Reported that Ambassador Bohlen was scheduled to leave on
Friday and he had indicated a wish to talk with some of our people
before his departure. After some discussion, DD/P undertook to arrange
a luncheon here for Wednesday, 1 April, after which Ambassador Bohlen
would be given the opportunity to talk with representatives of DD/I and
DD/P.
c. Stated that the defected MIG pilot had made a broadcast over
BBC and he had undertaken to obtain a transcript of this broadcast.
d. Stated he had directed Mr. Pforzheimer to hold up on his talk
with Senator McCarthy in connection with the "McCarthy List" for the
time being. The Director stated he was not convinced that a conversation

before the NSC on Tuesday, 31 March, and would also prepare notes on
Burma, Guatemala, and possibly the Italian riots if they amounted to
anything, for the Director's use at the NSC Meeting scheduled for
Wednesday, 1 April.
