MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director for Support
1. On 25 January 1965 the DDI established a "CIA
Operations Center" as a staff element of the Intelligence
Directorate and physical planning for the Center was
ordered expedited.
2. From this date, through the actual start of
construction in early May to the completion of all
major items in mid-September, many personnel in the
Support Directorate were more or less continuously and
intimately associated with the project.
3. It would take several pages to commend all of
the people in your offices and shops who contributed to
the early and highly satisfactory completion of the
Center. However, I would like to single out the follow-
ing employees and through them extend to their subordinates
my appreciation for a job well done.
