Yir. i.-isner had arranged to see Mitchell with Col. Hansen and it was hoped that his unrfasonable requests could be turned down without causing any resentment. 25X1 Mr. Wisner stated that Mr. II would be in at 10:25 to brief the DCI respecting his appointment with representatives'of the American Legion. Mr. Becker undertook to see that the DCI was informed. This was done i;runediatey following the meeting. There was a brief discussion of various items in the Log, as follows: 3. In connection with a discussion of the situation in Iran, it was mentioned that one might be of use and iii. Dulles undertook to call t is to e attention of State. Mr. Dulles reported briefly on the Steering Committee discussion of the NSC Middle East paper and stated that its weakest point was that it 1as focused on the Middle East Command, the success of which was conjectural. Mr. Dulles noted that he had received a paper from Gen. Marucer with respect to the exploitation of persons escaping from Soviet areas. After some discussion, it was felt that formal action on this paper Aught be deferred until CIA had had a chance to review its present projects with PSB. 25X1 25X1 Mr. Dulles also noted that the NSC Senior Staff had approved the paper on evacuation of key indigenous personnel and Mr. Wisner stated that this paper was satisfactory from the point of view of CIA's commitments therein, which, it was noted, were limited, most of the work having been done.
