Director's Meeting
Mr. 0 reported that Colonel
a full report on his findings in Thailand.
Monday, 30 July-
Mr. gave the DCI a list of promotions of
service personnel in both OPC and OSO. feels we
have done very well.
Mr. discussed at some length the deterloratir_g
relationship be ween OPC and Secretary Pace and General
Collins. He feels trat General Collins is constantly being
needled General !cClure's organization and his own :Indians.
Mr. I Imentioned a memorandum in which General Collins
expressed concern over the lack of CIA planning for re-
tardation and stressed the fact that had
answered this in excellent style. The DCI mentioned that
to some extent we could control General Collins by having
the NSC put a time limit on the Magnitude Paper. The
Director further stated that he would take the whole matter
up with. General Marshall. Mr. I before the end of the
week, will have a paper prepared for the DCI setting forth
various important points in our troubles with the Department
of the Army.
Mr. will see Secretary Pace and feel him
out as to wha is really going on in the Department of .rmy
in relation to OPC.
Mr. said that he had cancelled All's
Meeting for this morning; on account on the special '-'-AC
Meeting. The Director has agreed to have an AD Meeting
Tuesday morning at 11:00 o'clock.
