Daily Staff Meeting
Monday, 26 February 1951
Mr. Dulles reported that General McClure had dispatched a
telegram from the War Department stating that the directive on
psychological warfare did not affect CIA operations.
It was decided to postpone the Assistant Directors meeting in
view of the briefing of the JCS.
The Director inquired as to the Interdepartmental Foreign
Information Organization, and stated that he thought there were too
many committees and that if necessary we should direct a letter to the
Security Council to that effect in withdrawing from the majority of
the committees. He directed Mr. and Mr. Reber to prepare 25X1
a comprehensive study.- I
Mr. Dulles stated that he was disturbed at the length of
memoranda from and 0/PC and was about to advise them of such.
The Director stated that he is not only concerned at the length of
the memoranda, but also at the verbosity of the presentations.
