1, Vittorio Vidali, Giovanni Postogna and Maria Bernetic, all members of the
Trieste pro-Cominform (Viftli) Communist Party's Executive Committee,
departed Trieste on 6 August. Vittorio Vidalia destination ryas reported
to be Rome while the destination of Postogna and Bernetic was unknown.
All three are expected to return to Trieste In August.
2. Alessandro Deetradi, the Party's Organizational Secretary, has been absent
from Trieste for one month. His whereabouts are unknown.
3. The simultaneous absence of the above individuals who represent the Party's
backbone in Trieste is considered by source to be significant.

Comment: Your attention is called to -I* which reported
the absence of Vittorio Vidali and 119xia Bernetic from Trieste during the
latter part of June. At that time Vidali eras reportedly in Budapest while
Bernetic was attending the WIDF meeting in Sofia.
