As a result of a military conference held in Canton on 21 July which was attended by YEH Chien-ying and all important m 'gibers of the Kwangtung Military District Command, YEH recommended to the headquarters of the Central and South China Iiilitary District Command in Iiankow that the military forces of the Iwangtung T ;ilitary District be increased by one or two aruies. After the conference Yr'H also cabled a report to the Chinese Co.. munist Revolutionary 11ilitary Council in Peiping on existing defenses for the South China coasts 2.
