The following is the legend to the city map of Timisoara, specifyiolL oil mili-
tary and civilian installations known to source prior to 15 Aeril 1951.

1. Former Artillery and Cavalry Darracks occupied by 1,200 to 11500 tank troops,
2. Parking lot with 60 to 100 light and heavy tanks with three-dlit numbers on
their turrets, including 430, and the Acd Star. They belonged to the tank
troops quartered in the barracks installf-tions? item 1.
3. fA gun emplacement for guns of about 75 mm, with their barrels elevated almost
vertically.

a soviet headquarters, probably a unit headquarters. Officers and wooan in
uniform were observed. Communications existed between the headquarters and
the troopc in the barracks installations, item 1.
11. Prewar underground fuelcontainers. No activity observed there.
12. Low wooden barracks buildings being constructed by Soviet soldiers,
