l o On 16 may 195.1s the Auhof Kaserne at Urfahr ( Ii9JV 88) quartered troops who
wore black bordered red epaulet.. A Croup of soldiers received mortar training
in the target and drill area west f the installation. Three officers and
about 12 soldiers with three low guns with cradle and recoil bralke,, but with
out muzzle bra?ce, were also seen in the training area,, Eight to 10 Groups
of soldiers practiced advancing in the northern portion of the training areas
v:here infantry an:e fire could be heard. One of the soldiers carried a radio
:.,et and wore earphones. Little activity was observed in the billeting area
proper. About 30 trucks were in a garage in the southwestern section of the
billeting area, Another large, wooden gara Ce was filled with motor vehicles.
Still other rotor vehicles were in a wooden. garage in the northeastern section
of the billeting area.
