Construction of the Skoda Jerks Plant in Unicov (P50/II77), which was been
in 194 , is still in progre ss, 'Iarro halls have boon constructed to the present
tine; both are of steel frame construction with =1I1eraclittt walls, (1) and flat
roofs with glass slcyli..rhts. Hall :1o. 1 is about 200 m by 60 m in size, while
Hall No, 2 is about 500 m by 500 in. Construction of a ? gird hall and of a
boiler house has been started. This work is being done by the Sumpcrk branch
of the Czechoslovak Building .Association. (2)
TI-is plant is now a basic plant of the Skoda ;Iorlss. It employs about 550
tirar%rs, including about 150 office eriployces. (3) iloa alo of the u-orkers is
very low because of the imposition of increased production nor-ms. The plant
is surrounded on three sides by a wooden fence and on the fourth side by a
wall 2t m high. The plant ::militia consists of 30 r non and the plant guard.

cautions have been taken. The Plant 11ana ;er is Ing. To*_'lsik; the Technical
tanager is Ing. Krasny, a fanatical Communist.
Hall No, 1, which has been in production since June 1950, manufactures frames
for traveling cranes of betueen 10 and 25 tons capacity and dredging machines
at a rate of about three machine s per month. (!,.) The cranes and dredges are
sent to the Skoda :?16rks in Pilsen for completion. Early in 1951 construction
of a 1crge dredge of type K-1000 was started. It was schecluled to be completed
in a out two years and exported to the USSR. Equip nt of this hall includes:
2 large traveling cranes, one of 10 tons and one of 20 tons capacity
1 small traveling cranes of 2 tons capacity
6 vertical drill presses
1 horizontal drill press
3 planers
15 grinders
50 electric welding m. chines
