Dear Peter:
I was pleased to receive your 22 October letter
recounting the recent cooperation between analysts of our
National Foreign Assessment Center (NFAC) and staff of your
Operational Intelligence Division. As you know, the
Intelligence Assessment which NFAC prepared on the Turkish
narcotics problem was requested by the President.
We are pleased that NFAC's Narcotics Intelligence
Center was provided access to certain Drug Enforcement
Administration files and able to hold discussions with DEA
specialists. Both proved useful in.completing the project
in a timely and substantive fashion. -Clearly, our
respective organizations must strive to continue; as well
as expand, this type of cooperation regarding the problem of
international narcotics. .
