SUBJECT:\ MORGAN. 'William Alexander (Maier)
Subject -reportedly renounced his U.S. citizenship in about September
1959, haying been previously granted Cuban citizenship by Fidel Castro.
(On 3 September 1959 the Chairman of the House Immigration Committee
of the U. S. Congress advised that the State Department had decided to � -
revoke Subject's U.. S. citizens/zap in view of his service in the Cuban
armed forces. According to a New York Time. article of 6 November 1959,
Subject is new a Cuban citiken: . )
Subject waehorn in 'Cleveland. Ohio. on 19 April 1928 (or 30 July 1928
according to Army reportedly went to sea at the age of fifteen;
enlisted in U.S. Array on 1 August 1946 .and was dishonorably discharged
*all April 4950 after serving a three-year *entente In federal prison (for
AWOL. �leap� and robbery, etc.. according to information from -records
at the Adjutant General of the Army).
According to newspaper reports, Subject was married and had two
children prior to going to join Castro's forces in the mountain. of Cuba
in February 1958. Hie wife reportedly divorced him 'about eight months
later and he is said to have married a Cuban girl: He became a major
in Castro's fortes and at one time was given command of the port city
Cienfuegos. In August 1959 he became a Cuban hero for his part in
breaking up an alleged counter-revolutionary plot prephzed and armed in
the Dominion Republic.
I..ccording to one newspaperman following his (the newspaperman's)
release from CubantOrrest in August 1959, Subject was connected with
"Castro Intelligence' and bragged of the efficiency of Cuban intelligence
in the U.S.

On 21 October 1960 the Cuban Army announced the arrest of Subject
on suspicion of having aided Escambray Mountain Insurgent. -at the direction
