1. At the Medical Research Laboratory of the Pediatric Hospital in Lodz, work on
hijaluromidaza is carried out with desoxylorticosterone of Swiss manufacture.
Hijaluromidaza is used experimentally at the hospital, and some good results
have ,been observed in children suffering from acute diarrhea, etc., as harmful
bacteria appear to be flooded away more rapidly if hijaluromidaza is injected.
It has been found that effects of the spreading factor are still further speeded
up by the injection of Vitamin C.
2. The large 35,000-revolution centrifuge supplied to the hospital by UNICEF is the
only one of its kind in Poland.
3. Polish penicillin is yellow and has certain objectionable after-effects, and
foreign penicillin is still preferred where available. 'White penicillin is now
also being made. There is still no locally made streptomycin, and the drug is
available only in limited quantities.
