(1) Background of Hitler affair covered in Breakers
series some of which went only Wash but assume you advised
froth there. Also handling certain phases by daily telephone
fihich suggest Wash repeat to extent they think of interest
to you. Will hereafter repeat all cables this subject to
you.
(2) Essence of plan was elimination or. isolation Hitler
and Staff, seizure control over Heimatheer through Risler
and Eta who were in plot supported by Zeta and Theta at GHQ.
Certain key persons of former 659 organization were cooperating
and Tucky and Leper (latter identical with Lester) were to
assume leadership if successful. Bearcat was to hold _Berlin
situation. I believe _but cannot prove that Gestapo had prior
inside information and moved too _quickly for plotters when
bemb attempt failed. Possibly some of plotters then lost
their nerve. _(For 105. If some of above code names not
available to you please obtain from Wash).
(3) We have no accurate information here as to develop-
ments and believe that most press reports from here and
Stockholm are mere rumors. _As plotters apparently never

(5) Would be most interested to know whether Zulu had
any prior news of plot possibly thru 800. I mention this in
connection German official statements that foreign power
involved as possibility that if Zulu not attacked on this
score they might endeavor involve me view my contacts Luber
and 670 but there should be no evidence unless others made
memoranda or disclosures made by persons apprehended. Re
Wash 1861 Luber is 512 see our 4085.
