of the manager of the Hong Kong office of Air India International (F). Appraisal

1.
The manager of the Air India International in Hong Kong became very upset over
the crash of the Constellation that carried part of the Chinese Communist delega-
tion to Indonesia; the pilot killed in the crash had been his best friend. The
manager had seriously considered canceling the flight.1
2. The manager strongly suspects sabotage by the Chinese Communists.2
STATE
1. Washington Comment. Another untested source) in C5-61554, reported that the
Chinese Communist delegates had insisted that the flight be made in order
that scheduled connections could be made in Djakarta.
2. Field Comment. Source could not obtain details of the managers suspicions
of the Chinese Communists.
