Central Intelligence Agency
Washington, D.C. 20505
20 March 2014
Mr. Jason Leopold
Reference: F-2014-01059
Dear Mr. Leopold:
On 18 March 2014, the office of the Information and Privacy Coordinator received your
17 March 2014 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for all draft and final talking
points and guidance the Central Intelligence Agency prepared for any of its media
representatives and agency officials, including DCI John Brennan to address the issues
surrounding the Senate Select Committee Intelligence report on the CIA's rendition,
detention and interrogation program.
Our officers will review your request and will advise you should they encounter any
problems or if they cannot begin the search without additional information. We have assigned
your request the reference number above. Please use this number when corresponding so that we
can identify it easily.
You have requested expedited processing. We handle all requests in the order we receive
them; that is, "first-in, first-out." We make exceptions to this rule only when a requester
establishes a compelling need in accordance with the FOIA, 5 U.S.C. 552, as amended. Your
request does not demonstrate a "compelling need" and, therefore, we deny your request for
expedited processing.
Sincerely,
Michele Meeks
Information and Privacy Coordinator
