1. Description of truck ride to the laboratory: The village
of GORYIN, consisting of 40 wooden houses at most, was at
kilometer station 38 on the MA GNITOGORSK (5905'E/5302711"),
Chelyabinsk Oblast - VFX,iKHNE URALSK (59?13'E/53?48'N) road.
In the village, a road leading through a woods branched off
to the east. After about a half mile it passed a tractor
station and after another 1,3 miles it ended at the test la-
boratory. There was a brook near the laboratory..
2. Description of the test laboratory: The 7a boratory consisted
of four three-story buildings, 100 x 40 x 30 feet each. There
were pressure chambers in two of the houses, but source was
unable to make any detailed statements on the:. A waterproof
and tile-tined basement in addition to a 50-foot-long wind
tunnel was located in the third house. A 800-HP underground
Diesel generator formed part of the equipment of this house.
Forty double bedrooms were available in t he fourth house.
3. Purpose of the installation: 0 did not definitely know 25X1
the purpose. The installation was accepted by Soviet Air r'orce
officers in October 1948. Fifty engineers moved into the
dwelling house in December 1948. Among them was a German ILLEGIB
graduate engineer with the name of SCF-,`IDT or SCI ITT from
