(b)(7)(e) Approved for Release: 2021/11/03 C06747428 Approved for Release: 2021/11/03 C06747428 SEU � BACKGROUND: On 26 September 1944, an OSS team known as the Chrysler Mission, was parachuted into the zone of Mount Mottarone� Northern Italy, to work with Italian Partisans in carrying out intelligence operations beh0d enemy lines. American members of the mission were, Major William VHOLOHAN, ASN 0318094, Chief of Mission; Lt. Aldo Lorenzo ICARDI, ASN 0521212, and Sgt. Carl George LO DOLCE, ASN 32687257, 14/T Operator. Subsequently, the mission was joined by two Italian Partisans, GiuseppiOANNINI and Gua1tieroOZZINI. On the night of 6 December 1944, while the Chrysler Mission was operating in the Lake Orta Region, Northern Italy, Major HOLOHAN disappeared. It was reported by. the remaining members of the mission that HOLOHAN disappeared follow- ing an ambush by Nazi-Facist forces. In the early part of 1949, evidence was uncovered which indicated that Major HOLOHAN had been murdered by one or more of the other members of the NChrysler Mission.
