PUEBLO SITREP No. 6
(As of 1200 ESTY
1. There have been no further North Korean statements
concerning the Pueblo, and intercepted North Korean
messages have contained no new information on the location
or condition of captured US personnel.
4. President Pak Chong-hui is very likely under
increasing pressure from within his regime to take some
retaliatory action against the North Koreans following
the attempt on his life Monday. South Korean casualties
resulting from this incident and subsequent operations
thus far total about seventeen killed and twenty-seven
wounded.
5. Peking has continued to remain silent on the
capture of the Pueblo and is similarly ignoring the North
Korean attack -577:7-aays ago on the South Korean presidential
residence.
