EXECUTIVE COMMITTEES
OF
AIR ASIA COMPANY LIMITED AND AIR AMERICA, INC.
28 March, 1967
Meetings of the Executive Committees of Air Asia Company
Limited and Air America, Inc. were held on March 28, 1967 and the
following matters were considered:
1 - Approval of Minutes:
(a) Meetings of the Air Asia Company Limited and Air
America, Inc. Executive Committees of March 14, 1967: The Minutes
of the Meetings of the Air Asia Company Limited and Air America, Inc.
Executive Committees of March 14, 1967 were approved.
(b) Meeting of Air America, Inc. Board of Directors of March
21, 1967: The draft minutes of the meeting of Air America, Inc. Board
of Directors of March 21, 1967 were approved for submission to the
Board.
(c) Meeting of Air Asia Company Limited Board of Directors of
�March 21, 1967: The draft minutes of the meeting of Air Asia Company
Limited Board of Directors of March 21, 1967 were approved for sub-
mission to the Board.

2 - Reports:
(a) Operating Statistics - February, 1967: Flying activity for
-February totalled 19, 230 hours or 687 hours per day as compared with
a total of 21,979 hours or 709 hours per day reported for January.
Flying was down due to the fewer days in February and to the Tet holiday.
Preliminary reports show March flying exceeding the record month of
January. Total revenue load factor for scheduled operations was 49% for
February as compared with 48% for February of 1966. Customer aircraft
maintenance was down 5% with 190,000 skilled man-hours reported for
February, 1967, as compared with 200, 000 for January, 1967. The total
skilled man-hours expended in February at the main maintenance base was
495, 000. Skilled labor overtime was 18% of regular hours worked in
February, 1967 as compared with 22% for January, 1967.
(b) SEA Contract Flying: The Executive Committee reviewed
and discussed the Volpar endurance program and other SEA contract flying
projects. The Executive Committee also reviewed requirements for and
availability of Bell 204B and other helicopters and Porter and Volpar
fixed wing aircraft.
(c) Major Damage to Aircraft: Since the last Executive Com-
mittee meeting on March 14, 1967 one report of major aircraft damage
has been received. Volpar Twin Beech N91284 crashed into a mountain
north of Da Nang on March 23, 1967. The pilot and all eight passengers
were killed. The passengers included seven U.S. educators in Vietnam

on an AID project and a USAID official.
3 - Revetments at Saigon: The Executive Committee considered and
deferred a proposal for constructing revetments at Saigon's Tan Son
Nhut Airport. The proposal provides for the division of the overall
aircraft parking area into approximately four major areas by the con-
struction of steel reinforced concrete walls eight feet high at a cost of
,$72,572.
4 - Capital Appropriation Request: The Executive Committee considered
and approved appropriation request VPFO-AR-66-197/R1 for $37,210
to cover B-727C aircraft flight crew training cost incurred in excess of
the original $420,000 appropriated for such training. The Executive Corn-
mittee also considered and deferred for further information appropriation
request PLNG-AR-233 to build or buy a spare Porter aircraft fuselage at
a cost of $26,040.
5 - Banking Facilities: The Executive Committee considered and approved
a change of signatories for and the opening of the following accounts:
(1) AAM Naha Working Fund Account ($15,000)
in the Bank of America
(2) AAM Saigon Piasters Depository Account
in the Bank of America
There being no further business to come before the meeting, on
motion duly made and seconded, it was adjourned.
