In Mr. Briggs' absence, I took
a call from the Chief of Staff*at NSA
who wished to provide the background
on a letter being sent from NSA to
CIA. The Chief of Staff said that NSA
offers a "National Senior Cryptologic
Course" (CY600) which is attended by
NSA and other Community officials.
One day of the course involves visits
to CIA. He said that course participants
have constantly complained about the
briefings and the way the participants
are handled at CIA. Efforts to resolve
these problems with OTE have not been
successful. As a result, NSA plans,
through its letter, to appeal to the
Executive Director to rectify the
situation.
