Cosmos 954, a radar ocean
!econnaissance satellite (RORSAT), is continuing to
lose altitude. The satellite is expected to reenter
the atmosphere on or about 23 January/
Cosmos 954 was launched on 18 Seotember_1177�]
RORSATs are powered by
a nuclear reactor, which normally is boosted into a
higher disposal orbit at the end of the satellite's
collection mission.
