The retirees and spouses were attending the second annual Annuitant Reunion. Officers who retired prior to 1989, in odd years between 1989 and 2013, in 1994 or 2004 attended. Director Brennan said he was honored to be with the annuitants and noted that he had worked for many of them. "Some of you gave me twos on my PARs," he joked. The DICIA talked about the Agency Ethos, the Strategic e review of the Agency's organization. He told the attendees about his strong bond with Director of National Inteligence James Clapper his -foxhole buddy" who protects Agency equities and suppoits CIA in its relationship with Congress. He reinforced to tne retirees his confidence in Agency officers: "Inc people who populate the Intelligence Community agencies take seriously their obligations to make sure they carry OW their duties in accordance of the law to the best of their abilities." After his remarks, DICIA Brennan took questions from the audience, including one on the ri of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant and another on the congressional oversight committees. The annuitants also received briefings from the Counterintelligence Center, Publications Review Board, the Office of Public Affairs, and the Office of Corporate Strategy, Policy, and Integration. Following the session in the Headquarters auditorium, the retirees attended a reception in tne lobby of the Original Headquarters Building. Many attendees who worked together shared stories, while others met and reminisced with senior Agency leaders, including Deputy Director Avril Haines and CIA has accom- plished another impossible mission �you CAN go back home again?' - Cthannuttant For many annuitants, their pride in CIA was bolstered by the reunion. The fact that the Director took the time to join us reinforced my continued commitmentto the organization, its mission, and its place in American society:one annuitant said in an e-mail.
