I believe you are aware that PFIAB is reviewing Agency recruitment
and training practices; their research on recruitment is about complete,
they are focusing on training.
have
Briefings for two PFIAB staffers/consultants (Carlin and Sternfield)
been arranged at C of C. Also Dr. Paul Seabury has asked to visit
OTE says it can accommodate a visit for a day and overnight
29 and 30 October) to review ops, analytical training, and to, in
Seabury's words, "press the flesh of some students and see what kind
of (bright) questions they are asking." Seabury, staffer Commander
Carlin, Larry Sternfield and, recently added at Seabury's request,
Roy Godson comprise the PFIAB team. OTE says it can handle this group.
With the addition of Godson, however, could you get the DDCI's agreement/
views?
According to the PFIAB staff the survey of recruitment has satisfied
some PFIAB concerns. Noteworthy is:
- Unnamed members were surprised/disappointed that we have not recruited
any CTs from the University of Texas in recent years.
- Apparently there was some concern that we were cloning a new
generation of like-minded CTs. Some Board members were
relieved to find that the CTs come from a broad cross-section
of the U.S. and from a wide variety of universities.
