NASA sent the shipment of 55 boxes to CDC under a funded interagency agreement for CDC to perform a referral review of the documents under the automatic declassification provisions of EO 12958. NASA indicates the entire project will consist of about 1 million pages. CDC expects to complete the review in FY 2002. (UHAHrie) Scanning Team Completes Five Week Trip to West Coast (UHAIU ) On 4 Oct 2001, the three-person Remote Archives Capture (RAC) scanning team from the CIA Declassification Center (CDC) returned to from a five-week TDY to the West Coast. The team scanned almost 90,000 images at the Hoover Institution Archives at Stanford University, the Reagan Presidential Library, and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Pacific Region Office. (U/Mri4404). Requester Seeks Marilyn Monroe's Diary (U/Mr1140)- CIA received its third request in the last two weeks concerning Marilyn Monroe. A Ph.D. from Roswell, New Mexico asked for "a photocopy of [Monroe's] complete diary. She was keeping this diary at the time of her demise, and it is said to have disappeared from the safe of the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office a few days after her death." The requester also asked for "transcripts of any and all wiretaps done by or for the CIA, on both of [her] telephones for the dates of 4 and 5 August 1962." (11//k/13421)- Grad Student Wants Documents on 1950s Guatemala Operation (UHATtift� A graduate student at American University asked for "officially released records" concerning "Operation PBSuccess" which took place in Guatemala in the 1950s. . � PBSUCCESS was a CIA covert action authorized by President Eisenhower that called for psychological, economic, diplomatic, and paramilitary action against the Guatemalan government. The FOIA case officer provided the requester with a listing of previously released material on this subject from which the requester may select documents that interest him.
