I readily can understand your hesitancy in releasing valuable
classified information to a 18�11 wham you do not know. Your caution is
a quality we appreciate. The release of information to non-authorized
individuals could be detrimental to the United Staten Government, as
you realize.
In this case, however, you need have no hesitancy.
is an accredited representative of the Central Intelligence Agency,
which has been authorised by the National Security Council to collect
foreign intelligence information for the United States Government,
within the United States, on behalf of ether federal agencies. The
Agency also is charged with the responsibility of protecting the identity
of sources of intelligenoe who cooperate with it.
