(U) In your letter of 15 June, you expressed
considerable concern regarding continuing leaks of
classified intelligence information. As I noted in'our
hearing on 22 July, I sincerely share your frustration.
(U) 'The leaking that is occurring is unprecedented.
It is compromising sources and methods. It is jeopardizing
US security. Although the Intelligence Community in general
and CIA in particular have taken steps to address
unauthorized disclosures, I recognize that more needs to be
done. I would appreciate any assistance the Committee can
provide to address this continuing serious problem.

identify ways to fix this serious security problem. Perhaps
one of the next steps could be a closed hearing. If the
Committee chooses to schedule a hearing, I suggest
representatives from the Department of Justice and the

perspectives with us.
