Dear
Inasmuch as I am about to go off on leave for a month,
and the Watergate matter is still bubbling around. I thought I
should perhaps recapitulate my knowledge of the
/Edward J. Hamilton relationship during 1972.
This to preclude calling me while I am in St. Croix on leave.
The atta.chment,in connection with all other correspondence
which is available in Headquarters, constitu.tes everything that I
know about this sordid mess. The only thing, however, that I have
that you do not have in Headquarters, is the original of
letter to me setting forth his relations with Mr. Hunt. This paper
dated 5 April in retrospect appears only to be a cover story probably
previously agreed upon for use in this area. In any event, it is in
own handwriting. I prefer to keep the original in my
ow-n files here in the Station.
If all things go as expected, I shall be in Washington some
time the latter part of August 1973. Meanwhile I hope things
continue to go well for you and yours.
