1. About mid-April 1967, at the repuest o John McConnell, I
called the attention of William C. Chapman to the appearance in the
March and April 1967 issues'of Ramparts of full page ads placed for
Northeast Leasing, a Pontiac agency located at 874 Commonwealth
Avenue, Boston. A Mr. Richard Russell was listed as owner of
Northeast Leasing.
2. Mr. Chapman was surprised to see the ads and said he doubted
that anyone in GM management was aware of their existence, or if

knowing, would approve. As John McConnell had .emphasized, Chapman /x
was. advised that we were only interested in knowing who Richard Russell
was and why he might be supporting Ramparts in that mann.
