The Select Committee on Presidential Campaign Activities
now has in its possession pursuant to an order by Judge Sirica
dated May 14, 1973, certain papers and memoranda of a classified
nature which were the subject of a court proceeding initiated by
John Wesley Dean, III.
The Committee is fully aware of the sensitive nature of
these papers and is taking every security precaution wh-i.le they
are in its possession. The Committee has not fully examined
these papers or made a determination as to their relevancy to
the investigation by the Committee under Senate Resolution 6o.
The Committee will determine whether or not they are relevant
after further examination. The Committee appreciates any advice
your Agency wishes to give this Committee concerning the Committee's
use of these papers.
