1. Reportedly, Rumanian troops attended fall (1951) maneuvers in Hungary. It
also was reported that the Hungarian Government provided the transportation
facilities for the Rumanian troops.
2. The Rumanian 13' Infantry Regiment was stationed at Vidin, Bulgaria, during
the months of May and June 1951.
A large tract of land was recently requisitioned not far from Baneasa, to
the northeast of that locality, along the Bucharest-Ploesti road, and sur-
rounded by a high fence. Reportedly, about 200 Soviet tanks and armored
care have been brought to this tract of land. This might indicate the
presence of a Soviet armored division in the vicinity of Bucharest.
In the sumner of 1951, a Soviet infantry unit of some 2,000 men was sta-
tioned at Voiteg to the south of Timisoari.
Recently, a Soviet regiment of motorized infantry was quartered in the
former barracks of the Rumanian 3 Arti11eryRegiment at Braill-.
6. A Soviet artillery unit was recently reported stationed at Grabat to the
north of Jimbolia,
7. Reportedly, a Soviet motorized unit is located at Remocea, in the Timis-
Torontal district.
S. A Soviet military command is reported to be located at Data, to the south of
Timisoara.

not far from the Periani-Lovrin railroad line and near the Timisoara-Cenadul
