OPA Notice: CIA Expands Its Social Media Presence
A Message from the Office of Public Affairs
(U) Today, the CIA is expanding its social media presence with the launch of official
CIA social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook. The launch of these accounts
builds the Agency's online presence beyond its public website, CIA.gov, the CIA.gov
mobile site, and CIA's official Flickr and YouTube accounts.

(U) By expanding to these platforms, CIA will be able to more directly engage with the
public and provide information on CIA's mission, history, and other developments.
The CIA has important information to share, and these accounts will ensure that the
information further accessible to the public, consistent with our national security
mission. Additionally, by launching official accounts on Twitter and Facebook, CIA
joins the rest of the Intelligence Community, who have found this method of
communication to be very effective.
