REPORT NO.
1. The Hanoi Front is directly responsible to the high command of the Demoaratio
Republic of Vietnam (MV) and coimnuniaates with the high command of Inter-
sector III and the ?Tani Gong An only when matters of mutual interest are
to be discussed.
2. At present the only combat unit assigned to the Hanoi Front is the 812
Battalion, inter Nguyen Hha, which includes a guard compatW and a coazmica-
tiois unit. The 812 Battalion is the former 802 Battalion, which has been
formed from the combination of the.104 Battalion, disbanded in early 1949,
and the 3 Battalion, formerly the guerrilla unit in the area. During 1950
and early 1+ both the 50 Battalion and the 802 Battalion were assigned
to the Pront:I
