Hughes is critical of the Army command for spending too
much time dwelling on Argentina's defeat instead of
addressing the current economic crisis.I

Carlos Trimarco, Commander of the powerful Army I Corps.
Following graduation from the Military Aviation
School in 1951, Hughes served with various air brigades.
He received flight and maintenance training in the United
States in the early 1960s. During the 1970s he served
successively as Chief of Operations, V Air Brigade; air
attache to Brazil; Chief of Operations, IV Air Brigade;
Air Force Chief of Operations; Commander, IV Air Brigade;
and Chief of Staff, Air Defense Command.
Hughes, 51, is married and has five children. He
speaks some English.
