REPORT NO. 25X1 X
I. During the wok of 18 November 1951, the USIA--controlled firm Waagner-L'iro
started production on two super-cranes for a Czech factoxy, location un?alown,
w11ich is probably manufacturing armor plate. The cranes will have a lifting
capacity of 30 tons and magnetic lifting tackle. The scheduled completion
date for the cranes is February 1952 and it is possible that a u1aagner-Dim
erection crew will install the equipment in Czechoslovakia.
2e Several smaller cranes with a lifting capacity of 10 tons each are now under
construction for the USS .* The crams rare ordered by the Soviet Purchas -ng
Commission in Vienna which is pressing for an early delivery.
3. The USIA-controlled Siemens--Schuckert plant is supplying all electrical equip-
ment for these cranes.
ainent: Although the original report does not say so specifically,
the inference is that these cranes are also produced by taagner Biro.
